Research Fields

Interdisciplinary Research

The purpose of interdisciplinary research is to integrate two or more different disciplines. It covers a wide range, from simple exchange of ideas to integration of organizational concepts, methodology, epistemology, terminology, data, research and teaching organizations in a certain field. Generally speaking, the more disciplinary sources of research results are integrated, the stronger their interdisciplinary nature.

Peer review:

Peer review is an organizational method used to evaluate scientific work. It is often used by the scientific community to judge the correctness of work procedures, confirm the reliability of results, and allocate limited resources. Under the background of eradicating the "five wei" and correcting too much quantitative evaluation, the standardization and reform of the peer review system has become the only way to solve the evaluation problem.

Open Science

Open science is the movement to make scientific research (including publications, data, physical samples, and software) and its dissemination accessible to all levels of an inquiring society, amateur or professional. Open science depends on the common influence of technological development and cultural change on scientific research collaboration and openness. It makes the scientific research process more efficient, transparent and effective by providing unlimited, barrier-free, and open-access research achievements.

Researchers’ Professional Career

By combining data from multiple sources, this topic aims to explore researchers’ professional career from different dimensions: scientific collaboration, mobility and researchers’ academic performance. The results of this project will be beneficial to promoting more systematic and refined studies of researchers’ career. The results may also contribute to improved research management and policies supporting a better talent base for science and technology development.

Team Science

Team science is the science conducted by scientific teams. It is developed with the goal of developing integrated theories and solving complex research problems. This collaborative research requires scientific teams to interact as a whole, in which internal members share and exchange information, resources and expertise to develop new insights and solutions to accomplish a common goal.
